In 2018, telemedicine was little more than a “buzz-word” to me. As an independent infectious disease doctor, it was my ongoing frustration that patients had to wait 4-6 weeks to get a new appointment with me.
So, I decided to take a second look at “telemedicine.” Could a digital health platform help me see more patients? The answer was YES! Not only does telemedicine allow me see more patients each day, fewer patients cancel/reschedule their appointments when they are too sick to come to the office or unable to get a ride. Also, medical facilities with service gaps can easily access specialty care from the nodSpecialists’ team.
My vision to drastically reduce the time it takes a patient to see their specialist was realized!
