While the national average wait time for NEW patients in the U.S. to see a specialist is estimated at 30-35 days (and growing), wait times at our practice for the first half of 2023 were 38% lower than the national average. Excessive wait times are not good for patients, and they are also not good for providers. One report indicates that one in five patients switched doctors because of long practice wait times. In addition to frustrating patients, long wait times can increase healthcare costs and negatively impact patient health outcomes: a lose-lose-lose scenario for patients, providers and health plans.
How can we offer patient wait times below the national average? n.o.d. is an acronym for “network of doctors” as our proprietary digital health platform (HIPAA-compliant) simplifies the connection of our “network of doctors” with patients and PCPs.
